Central Cee and Lil Durk Drop Cinematic Visuals for “Truth In The Lies”

On the heels of his ‘Can’t Rush Greatness’ release, Central Cee has delivers the highly-anticipated visuals for his Lil Durk-assisted single, “Truth In The Lies.” The cinematic music video, directed by Jerry Productions, offers fans a sleek, urban glimpse into the lives of two rap juggernauts.

The 2 ½-minute clip is packed with vivid storytelling and moments of camaraderie, juxtaposing luxury with raw authenticity. Shot primarily before Lil Durk’s October 2024 arrest, the clip captures intimate yet aspirational scenes: a competitive game of FIFA, high-end shopping sprees in Paris, and moments of reflection. The visual mirrors the lyrical theme of the track—balancing trust, ambition, and betrayal in a world where loyalty is currency.

The track’s hypnotic production, which samples Ne-Yo’s classic “So Sick,” adds another layer of vibration, blending nostalgic R&B with modern drill.

Central Cee’s ‘Can’t Rush Greatness‘ has already cemented itself as a standout project for 2025. Released on Jan. 24, the album features powerhouse collaborations, including Lil Baby, Dave, Skepta, and Puerto Rican sensation Young Miko. Tracks like “BAND4BAND” and “Limitless” have quickly gained traction, while the Cole Bennett-directed “GBP” with 21 Savage showcased Central Cee’s global appeal.

On the album opener “No Introduction,” he paid tribute to Lil Durk and the late King Von, bridging the U.K. drill and Chicago rap worlds with poignant lyricism: “The big dot-dot ain’t little like Durk, it’s OTF like, ‘Long live Von’ / The U.K.‘s not what you see on films, bro’s in the block with the longest wand.”

While Central Cee’s career is skyrocketing, Lil Durk’s legal battles cast a shadow. Since his October 2024 arrest, the Chicago rapper has been entangled in a high-profile murder-for-hire case involving five members of his Only The Family (OTF) crew. The trial, originally slated for January 2025, has been delayed until October, leaving fans in suspense. Both sides of the case have described it as “unusually complex,” given the number of defendants and the intricate web of allegations.

The release of “Truth In The Lies” feels like a statement: two of the most influential voices in modern rap standing tall amidst their respective challenges. For Central Cee, it’s a testament to his unrelenting grind and ability to create cross-continental connections. For Lil Durk, it’s a chance to keep his artistry alive despite looming trials.
