Chris Brown Drops ‘Residuals’ Music Video Amid Legal Battles

R&B star Chris Brown, known for his smooth vocals and electrifying dance moves, recently dropped off the official music video for his song, “Residuals.” The visuals, directed by Travis Colbert, offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at Brown’s life, fusing dynamic stage performances with intimate studio sessions. The clip also showcases Brown’s devotion to his craft, highlighting both his connection with fans during concerts and his creative process in the studio.

“Residuals” was originally included on the deluxe edition of Brown’s 11th solo studio album 11:11, which was released via RCA Records/Chris Brown Entertainment back in April 2024.

The new music video comes at a tumultuous time for Brown. The Grammy Award winner recently filed a $500 million defamation lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery and Ample LLC over the 2024 documentary “Chris Brown: A History of Violence.” The documentary delves into various allegations against Brown, including his 2009 assault on Rihanna and other incidents of violence and abuse. Brown’s lawsuit claims that the documentary contains false information and accuses the producers of prioritizing profit over truth. His legal team emphasizes that Brown has never been found guilty of any sexual crime and argues that the documentary spreads defamatory lies.

Despite these controversies, the release of the “Residuals” music video serves as a testament to Brown’s enduring appeal and commitment to his artistry.
