NEW MUSIC: NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, Toosii, Offset, Kandi Burruss’ R&B Group Psiryn

Love, heartbreak, resilience, and ambition take center stage in this week’s freshest drops. NLE Choppa bares his soul on “Crescent Moon,” an introspective look at the struggles and perseverance of Black men in America. Kodak Black flips the script on relationships with his Valentine’s Day-ready “Single Again” and the chaotic, emotion-fueled “Cluck.” Toosii returns with “168 Hours,” a motivational anthem urging fans to maximize every moment, while Offset keeps things ice cold on “TEN,” a hard-hitting flex on love and independence. Meanwhile, R&B trio Psiryn makes history with their Billboard Adult R&B No. 1 hit, “Sober,” and delivers an intimate acoustic version that strips the song down to its emotional core. Whether you’re in your feelings, on your grind, or just looking for the next anthem to vibe to, these releases have something for everyone.

NLE Choppa – “Crescent Moon”

NLE Choppa digs deep with his latest release, “Crescent Moon,” a raw and introspective track that highlights the struggles, trauma, and resilience of Black men in America. Over a moody, atmospheric beat, the Memphis rapper lays bare his personal battles, touching on the pressures of street survival and the generational pain that shapes so many young Black lives. “Trying to grow into the man God designed,” he reflects, embracing accountability and the pursuit of healing. As the track progresses, Choppa shifts into a rapid-fire cadence, delivering a powerful message of perseverance: “Let’s put the past behind us. Forgiveness, I hope you find it.” Released as part of his Black History Month series, the single showcases Choppa’s growth as an artist and his dedication to using his platform for deeper storytelling. Following the impactful CAN WE LIVE? featuring B.O.A Mook, an anti-gun violence anthem, “Crescent Moon” continues Choppa’s run of socially conscious releases.

Kodak Black – “Single Again”

Kodak Black delivers a raw, heartbreak-infused anthem just in time for Valentine’s Day with “Single Again,” a track that finds him reflecting on a failed relationship. Over heavy piano keys and a ghostly R&B sample, the Pompano Beach rapper captures the regret and loneliness that come with love lost. While the hook, “Fuck it, I’m single again, I’m back in the streets,” might sound like a declaration of freedom, Kodak’s delivery carries a deeper melancholy. “I don’t remember the last time everything was peaceful between us / Everybody see the best in me, so why the fuck you just see a cheater?” he laments, exposing the emotional weight behind the breakup.

Kodak Black – “Cluck”

In contrast, “Cluck” is a trippier, more chaotic dive into Kodak’s psyche, reflecting the other side of heartbreak; numbing the pain and spiraling into a whirlwind of emotions. The track is a disorienting mix of observations and internal struggles, painting a picture of someone caught between self-reflection and self-destruction. With eerie production and Kodak’s unpredictable delivery, “Cluck” feels like a late-night conversation with himself, searching for clarity while getting lost in the haze.

These two tracks arrive after a relentless run from Kodak, who closed out 2024 with Gift for the Streets, a star-studded mixtape featuring Lil Yachty, Veeze, Rob49, and even a partial Hot Boys reunion with Juvenile and BG.

Toosii – “168 Hours”

Toosii kicks off 2025 with “168 Hours,” a fiery new track that channels his relentless hunger and ambition. Over a soulful beat, the platinum rapper delivers razor-sharp bars, challenging listeners to maximize their time: “What’s a fish to a piranha / What’s a pup to a dog / What’s a victim to a killer / What’s a baboon to King Kong.” The single follows a dominant 2024, where Toosii dropped his project JADED, featuring hits like “Fuk U Mean” and “Champs Élysées” with Gunna, while also showcasing his versatility on Afrobeats-inspired “Fire & Desire” and the nostalgic “I Do” with Muni Long.

Offset – “TEN”

Offset delivers a frosty take on love with “TEN,” a hard-hitting track that flips Valentine’s Day on its head. Over a sweltering beat blending booming trap and UK dancehall influences, the GRAMMY®-nominated rapper flexes his independence with cold-blooded bars: “I don’t need you, I got money / I don’t miss you, I got money / Love you, but not like money.” Produced by London Jae, the track arrives after a strong end to 2024, which saw Offset drop “Celebration,” a surprise Juice WRLD collaboration, and “Swing My Way,” a hypnotic solo single.

Psiryn – Sober (Acoustic Video)

Fresh off making history as the first R&B girl group in nearly 23 years to top the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart, Psiryn strips it all back with a raw, acoustic rendition of their No. 1 single, “Sober.” The live session highlights the song’s emotional clarity and self-discovery, allowing fans to experience its depth in an even more personal way. “This song speaks to so many people, and performing it in its purest form is our way of giving back,” the trio shares. Featuring Anaya Chayenne, Jada Denise, and Victoria McQueen’s sultry harmonies, the performance cements Psiryn’s place in R&B’s modern landscape. With Sober’s meteoric rise under Kandi Burruss’ Kandi Koated Entertainment, the trio now joins legends like Brownstone and Floetry, proving that true vocal talent and meaningful music still resonate deeply.
