Pusha T Taps Icon Lauryn Hill For The Inspiring ‘Coming Home’

Grammy-nominated recording artist, Pusha T recently released his latest single, “Coming Home,” featuring the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill. Assisted by the production of the icons Kanye West and Mike Dean, this offering is the embodiment of creative geniuses coming together. The song’s focal point is set on the premise of empowering and inspiring the masses to pursue their dreams, regardless of the circumstances their life presented them.

“Who ain’t get to go to school like a J. Cole, Who ain’t have a silver spoon or a bankroll,” Pusha spits. While not a “diss” at emcee J.Cole, a metaphor to indicate that you can succeed with or without education.

Pusha T’s lyrics are centered around empowering black people to overcome their struggles and persevere! Lauryn Hill assists Pusha T like a glass of ice cold water on a summer day! Beautiful, powerful, and purposeful, Hill absolutely delivered with her part. The wonderful and upbeat production by Kanye West and Mike Dean adds icing on the cake of musical prosperity that is “Coming Home.”

“Coming Home” is a brilliant song and message that instantly draws in listeners and will have them captivated from beginning to end. Aside from award-winning music, Pusha T and Lauryn Hill have been known for community building activism, so seeing both of them collaborate on a song made for activism is powerful.

Another power play was made to coincide with the track’s release. Pusha T officially announced that he joined forces with Brittany K. Barnett’s Buried Alive Project and MiAngel Cody’s The Decarceration Collective to launch the ‘Third Strike Coming Home Campaign.’ The initiative’s purpose is to free people serving life in prison today under the recently outdated 3 Strikes Drug Law.

Specifically, Pusha T kicked off the campaign donating $25k to the cause and will support Barnett and Cody as they look to hire more lawyers to fight for more people who are dealing with unnecessary sentences for federal drug crimes.
