The Diplomats Call on The Gospel For “Once Upon a Time” Music Video

Harlem stand Up!

Cam’Ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and Freekey Zekey, better known as The Diplomats, releases the brand new music video for “Once Upon a Time.”

In the visual, the rap collaborators take us to church the only way they know how; a little bit of Jesus and a lot of hood. The clip features choir singers in the background while Cam and Capo spit their raw and in your face lyrics.

The Diplomats recently announced their upcoming EP and documentary. “We working on a Dipset docu-EP right now, so, it will be very dope—slash movie, slash seven songs,” Capo recently confirmed during an appearance on MTV’s newly relaunched TRL.

Cap goes on to say the Harlem-based collective is returning in order to deliver the sort of content he feels has been largely absent from the landscape of 2017 hip-hop.

“It’s been a void in the music industry that hasn’t been, know what I mean, captured in a long time. We represent a lot of things from [hood] politics, to hood savvy, to dope boy fly to staying fresh every day,” Cap says. He’s not hating, though. “The climate of the music and things like that—I love it. I love going to clubs and getting lit and everything, but it’s a different type of music that you need when you hustling, and that’s what we always represented.”

Of the new project, Juelz says, “You know, we got a lot of relationships, so you never know who gon’ end up on a couple of these tracks.”

There’s no word on when the EP and documentary will be released
