Master P To Direct Documentary ‘Ice Cream Man: King of the South’ About No Limit Records (Trailer)

Straight Outta Compton isn’t the only hip-hop bio film coming to theaters…

Master P has announced he’s directing a documentary titled Ice Cream Man: King of the South, a bio about the rise of No Limit Records. Born Percy Miller, the New Orleans rapper and businessman put the Louisiana city on the hip-hop map in the 90s, changing the way artists negotiated record deals (securing 100% ownership of his label’s Master Recordings, and 85% of sales).

Growing up in the poverty-laden Third Ward of the Big Easy, he rose to become a platinum-selling rapper after his departure from the504 Boyz, notably with his 1997 hit “Make ‘Em Say Ugh.”

There’s no official release date yet, but the film is slated to hit theaters in the Spring of 2016. Peep the trailer below:
