According to reports, the music mogul and his partner, Jimmy Iovine, are in talks with Apple surrounding the sale of Beats by Dre, the headphones and music streaming company they launched in 2008.
With a purchase price rumored to be as much as $3.2 billion, If completed, the deal would be Apple’s largest ever acquisition, and make Dre a very rich man.
Dre fueled the reports after appearing in a video uploaded to Instagram, insisting, "The first billionaire in hip-hop, right here from the muthaf**kin West Coast, believe it."
Last month, Dre landed the runner-up spot on Forbes hip-hop rich list at $550 million, but if this deal goes through, he will surpass Diddy’s first place massive $700 million fortune in a big way.
