by Drake shows his progression from child to man on two artistic covers for his upcoming third studio album, Nothing Was The Same.
Painted by Kadir Nelson (artist of Michael Jackson’s posthumous Michael cover), one of the covers shows what’s supposed to be the profile of baby Drake, afro and all, against a blue sky to show that the sky is the limit for the tot. The second cover is a painting of the current adult Drake, facing the opposite direction (as if looking at the younger version of himself) against the same blue sky to represent how the Toronto rapper acknowledges where he comes from, and that his potential is still there.
Along with the posting of the covers on his OVOSound site, Drizzy also announced the release will be pushed back — Nothing Was The Same (singles “Started From The Bottom,” “Hold On, We’re Going Home”) to September 24 from the 17th.
