Kelly Rowland on Kanye West: “He Can Do Whatever He Wants”

Kelly Rowland will unleash her fourth solo studio album, Talk A Good Game, on June 18, and even though he's not R&B, she will battle Kanye West on the same date for album sales. Unlike Rowland, who has singles on the radio and videos on music networks, West did not drop any official promotional recordings to help boast awareness around his project, Yeezus.

"The way we worked on this shit, really collectively, collaboratively, we didn’t give a f**k about what nobody said from the outside looking in, anything. We just wanted to make the best product possible and this is just the beginning of an entirely new mentality of how to make music directly for the people," Stated Kanye. "We drop this shit June 18th, this ain't about waiting til August…It’s about delivering some sh*t for y'all to go to work to, ride to, listen to when you’re working out and sh*t, whatever y'all doing to provide a soundtrack for this sh*t. We’re gonna keep on doing this sh*t over and over and over, making shit from my core, from my gut."

Knowing the kind of artist and person Kanye West is, Kelly Rowland says he can do whatever.

"That's his style, that's the way he wants to release his album and you can't be mad at him," Rowland told Singersroom. "I think that we live in a time where people do whatever they want to do and he can do whatever he wants, he's Kanye West. It's gonna be great music."
