2 Chainz Recalls San Fransisco Gunpoint Robbery Attempt

The report about last weekend’s robbery attempt against rapper 2 Chainz in broad daylight causing his crew to scatter left people speculating about what went down. 2 Chainz recalled his version of the incident to Emperor Searcy, Mz Shyneka, and Mister Smith of his hometown of Atlanta’s hot 107.9 radio station.

“I saw the gun first. It was like a .357. It was so heavy he couldn’t really hold it. The gun was so big. That’s what made me take off running.” When he saw a second guy with a gun, he knew it was serious. “That’s when I knew it wasn’t like an episode of ‘Punk’d.’ I was like this is real. … I had bullet fragments in my hair. … I think he thought he shot me.”

The assailant then asked Chainz to give up the money. “He said, ‘Where dem bandz at?’ And I said, ‘I ain’t got no bandz on me.’” But the rapper thinks they didn’t really want to harm him; they just wanted to bust his chops because he’s more mainstream. “I didn’t fill out a report,” he said. “I don’t think they were trying to rob me. They really was just busting on me on some real stuff. At the end of the day, it’s just a part of me growing as an artist, me becoming more pop, me becoming a superstar.”

However, the Atlanta rapper did mention he plans on beefing up security.
