by Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter is taking his Roc Nation enterprise to new heights. With superstars like Rihanna, Timbaland, Melanie Fiona, Wale and Kylie Minogue already on his music roster, the hip hop mogul is delving into sports representation with the launch of Roc Nation sports.
“Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years,” said Jay-Z in a statement.
The new venture sees Jay-z partnering with Creative Artist Affairs (CAA) and his first sign, according to ESPN, is New York Yankees star Second Baseman Robinson Cano, who is in the final season of a $57 million contract. Cano recently cut all ties with longtime agent Scott Boras.
