by Nicki Minaj has revealed the album cover for her forthcoming third studio album, The Pinkprint, and it may catch a few folks by surprise.
The Young Money rapper, who has transitioned from themed outfits and crazy hair styles, to a natural look as of late, is taking her artistic focus to another level by only featuring a pink thumbprint on the cover of her upcoming opus. Minaj called on Kanye West’s DONDA Company to create the unique artwork.
“This is actually the #Deluxe cover. I’ll post the standard cover at a later date. #ThePinkprintAlbumCover thank u to the Kanye West team,” said Nicki.
Minaj has stated in the past that this LP is her best work to date, and is also an ode to Jay Z’s classic 2001 album, The Blueprint.
“I’m speaking about new things on this album. I’m excited I’m not allowing anyone else to define what the album is going to be,” Minaj told AMP. “… But overall the music just sounds really, really great. There’s no substitute for that.”
It’s great to see Minaj putting the focus on her music as she continues to create milestones in the female rap game. We all love a little booty and boobs at times, but nothing speaks more volume that great music.
