Kendrick Lamar Honors West Coast Hip-Hop at iHeartRadio Music Awards (Video)

Kendrick Lamar performed at the first annual iHeart Music Awards last night in his home city of L.A. at the Shrine Auditorium, and while he did perform one of his own musical creations, “M.A.A.D City,” what had everyone talking was how the he honored those before him, who put West coast hip-hop on the map.

Lamar put it down for Cali and L.A. by performing Tupac and Dr. Dre’s 1995 hit "California Love" along with a live band. He also enlisted a few busloads of fans wearing TDE T-shirts to help hype the crowd.

Lamar is working on new music set for later this year, but meanwhile, watch him give his Cali home love:
