Flo Rida to Headline Miami’s Black Gala

This year's Black Gala in Miami will be headlined by Florida’s own, rapper Flo Rida. The Black Gala functions as fundraising soiree and concert put on by Lea Black of “The Real Housewives of Miami” and husband Roy Black to raise funds for the Consequences Foundation which provides educational opportunities for at risk youth among food, fun and entertainment.

Rappersroom friend Chris Yandek of CYInterview.com chatted with Lea Black about Flo Rida’s debut performance at the 19th annual soiree. “He’s amazing. He’s had a lot of big hits recently. He’s been on the charts a lot in the last few years and he’s a very generous guy that really cares about kids that are struggling and he’s doing things in his own world with charities to help kids that people don’t even know about. So he’s really the perfect fit for us this year and we have some other surprise talent that will probably show up.”

Past performers included Patti LaBelle, Lil Wayne Queen Latifah, Dionne Warwick, and Pharrell. “I think the year we had Patti LaBelle and Lil Wayne was huge. That was a really big year. I mean they were both just iconic legends,” Black recalled.

The Black Gala will take place on Sat. April 13 at the FontaineBleau Hotel in Miami Beach. Tickets can be purchased at www.theblacksannualgala.com.
